DESCRIPTION

Mailppointment is a productivity focused utility for users who wish to create appintments in a quick and simple way, with less on screen touches in order to generate an invitation to a meeting, a conference,... and facilitate the submission of this information to multiple recipients.

When using this software, a vCalendar file (.vcs or .ics) is created in a remote server. This file is a standard for storing appointement information. During the last step of the Mailppointment process, a link to it is created and put into a new e-mail message in iPhone Mail.

The main calendar applications, such as Outlook, can download and read these ics files and automatically create a new appointment without typing anything.

Every recipient will receive a link to the ics file and a descriptive text with all the appointment information.

Finally, a special e-mail is sent back to the sender address with a special link that gives access to an edit page; there, only the sender can change the contents of the ics file for fixing any error.

SERVICE

The application, due to limitations regarding the iPhone Mail interaction, depends on the creation of the ics file in a remote server. Renacentist Software offers this service without cost, so that the end user does not need to take care about it. The service will be online for four years after the release of the application, or more.

PRIVACY

In order to create the ics file in the remote server, Mailppointment needs to send the following information to the server: start date and time of the event, end date and time of the event, alert data, location, type of event, sender e-mail as in the settings, name of the sender as in the settings, event duration and sender time zone. Anyway, recipients' e-mails are not sent to the server and remain in the iPhone Mail application. Sender data will not be used for any commercial purpose, just the creation of the ics file, and will be erased shortly after the event expire date.

SETTINGS

The user should perform adjustments in the iPhone settings -> Mailppointment section in order to set up the following options:

  • Sender's name
  • Sender's e-mail
  • Send copy to self (yes/no)
  • Default event duration
  • Default event alarm
  • Default e-mail message
  • 15 event type slots
