- Why RadarView Lite is loading nothing?
- Which other limitations does RadarView Lite have?
- What if nothing loads?
RadarView uses the aGPS system in order to pinpoint an initial search area; in order to do this, locates itself through the cellphone towers and network IP; then, it hands control over to the satellite GPS. If the area provided by the aGPS, inside the radius set, lacks locations, nothing will be loaded.
- Why a loading radius?
It is an efficiency issue. Every location update triggers a memory search for nearby POIs; it is better to load a limited set of locations in order to overload the operation. Hence, a limited radius.
- Where can I download locations?
RadarView includes two free providers for locations; users may find more ZIP files by themselves, or upload their creations to the internet, in order to use their own creations (format Route66).
- No map?
A map will be added to RadarView Pro, that will be created for the iPhone firmware 3.0 .
- Why updating fails?
If location-update settings are modified in RadarView settings, the interface will update less frequently. This behavior is linked to a static user testing the application without any displacement.
- Why is it only lauching warnings on radars, and not other location types?
Maybe the setting "Radar only warning" is activated..
- Why does it take so long to update the database?
RadarView copies every location to a SQLite3 internal database. In order to do this, it reads carefully every data and copies it to that efficient media, avoiding then future sluggishness during the regular program usage.
- Why must I push a start button in order for RadarView to work?
In case the user loads a corrupted Route66 file, it could prevent the software from starting. If we let the software not to start directly, the "reset database" option is reachable, and the error can be corrected.
- How can I add voices and assign types?
1) Visit www.renacentist.com/radarview
2) Assign every CSV of the desired ZIP a function, indicating the provider
3) Wait one or two days for approval
4) Download the assignation file to RadarView
5) Download the ZIP locations package in Route66 format
6) RadarView shoudl know by then what does contain every CSV file
- Why can I download nothing?
There must be a connection problem or a user/password filter that prevents you from downloading. Please, check for any error indication in the text window during the process. Only directly reachable files, without login, are fit for download.
- Should I buy RadarView or stay with RadarView Lite?
Buy RadarView if you feel happy with RadarView Lite (bar its limitations).
- Do recorded personal locations get erased?
Only by deleting them on purpose, removing the program from the iPhone and downloading a new ZIP package.
- How is the Route66 format like?
It consists of a CSV set of plaintext files compressed in a ZIP:
longitude-decimal, latitude-decimal, "description"<enter>
-3.43534,40.5345,"Test 1"
4.6577,41.34,"Test 2"
Every line must have an ending "enter", specially the last line.
- Why does it have so high battery consumption?
It uses the battery-eating GPS chip. Besides, the "sleep" mode is disabled, so that the information screen remains visible. We recommend to use a vehicle holder/support with power adapter.
- How do I change the distance at which RadarView triggers warnings?
You must enter iPhone settings, scroll down to RadarView and enter. Then, choose Distance Settings and change the value of Warning Radius.
